Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a 12-week assignment performing a variety of nuclear imaging and PET CT scans, with ME license and BLS certification required.
Responsibilities- Work in a hospital-based nuclear imaging department with 3 imaging rooms including Gamma Camera, Stress Room, and PET CT
- Patient population includes ED, inpatient, and outpatient cases
- Typical studies include DEXA scans, cardiac scans, stress/rest tests, HIDA, renal scans, bone scans, and PET CT
- Average of 8-10 patients per day; up to 5 per day when performing PET CT
- Equipment includes Siemens dual head camera and GE IQ PET CT
- Uses Cerner EMR and AGFA Enterprise Imaging PACS
- Schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 8-10 hour day shifts between 5:30AM and 7:00PM
- No weekends and no call required
- Fixed location with no floating required
- Work closely with a lead tech, two technologists per shift, internal transport, and onsite radiologist support
- First-time travelers will be considered for this position
- A two-week orientation period is provided, adjusted based on experience and comfort
- Professional solid color scrubs are required, or scrubs may be provided by the facility
- Free parking is available
- Flu vaccination is required for all start dates on or after 9/30/2024, with only medical exemptions considered
- RTO requests require manager approval
- Candidates must not have previously worked at any Northern Light Health facility in a permanent role
- Permanent address must be 100+ miles south or southwest of EMMC in Bangor, Maine for consideration
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
- Current BLS certification required
- NMTCB or ARRT (NM) certification required
- ME state license required if applicable
- Experience performing a variety of nuclear medicine scans and PET CT
- Ability to wear and use a dosimeter (dose reader badge)
- Experience with Cerner EMR and AGFA PACS is preferred
