Description for Internal Candidates
The University of Maine at Presque Isle (UMPI) is seeking to hire part-time Adjunct Faculty members who are subject matter experts in History and Political Science
.
The History and Political Science program supports online and in-person instruction, and is delivered in traditional 15-week semesters and/or 8-week Competency-Based Education (CBE) formats. All Your Pace/CBE competencies are fully online and asynchronous, and interpersonal interactions with students are expected. Adjunct Faculty are compensated based on agreements as per the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreements/MOU.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Adjunct Faculty for undergraduate degree programs must have at minimum, a master’s degree from an accredited institution, and/or significant work experience in a related field.
- Adjunct Faculty for graduate degree programs must have a Doctorate, terminal, advanced degree in field of study, and/or significant work experience in a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching at the college-level
- Online teaching experience
- Teaching in a competency-based education model
Technology Requirements
:
Adjunct Faculty are required to have the appropriate technology to teach in a fully online environment as appropriate. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Computer (laptop) with appropriate amounts of processing speed
- High-speed internet connection
- Webcam
- Microphone
