ALL ABOUT ON DEMAND:
You can work as much or as little as you like as an On-Demand Team Member (TM) and your schedule may vary depending on shift availability and store needs. This role is ideal for those looking for a personalized work schedule. As an On-Demand TM, you will not be included on the posted weekly schedule, but you will have the opportunity to create your own schedule by picking up shifts posted by leaders or other team members (via our myTime mobile scheduling app).

When you choose to pick up a shift, reliable and prompt attendance is necessary. We also require active engagement by picking up and working shifts at least once every 4 weeks (minimum of four hours). Flexibility can be granted in certain circumstances, but you must respond to our contact attempts to confirm your interest. If you do not respond, employment may be terminated.

If no shifts are worked for 5 months, employment may be administratively terminated. Communication and availability to work when business demands is critical to success in this role. If offered a position, you will attend a Target Welcome orientation and commit to a short-term training schedule; after that, use the myTime app to pick shifts.

ALL ABOUT SERVICE & ENGAGEMENT:
Advocates of guest experience who welcome, thank, and exceed guest service expectations by focusing on guest interaction, loyalty enrollment and store cleanliness. Knowledge of in-store and digital services and solutions that drive adoption and guest loyalty. Ability to help guests at checklanes, guest services, gift registry, pick-up and drive-up while ensuring quality.

What the role provides in terms of skills and experience: you will develop capabilities such as communicating with guests, problem solving, adapting to different interactions, promoting benefits and services, and guiding guests on fulfillment services and Target App features.

Typical responsibilities (not exhaustive):

• Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest experience by delivering the service standard.
• Create a welcoming experience as you complete daily tasks.
• Engage with guests to understand and resolve their needs.
• Be knowledgeable about tools, products, and services to solve issues and improve the guest experience.
• Thank guests and acknowledge their choice to shop at Target.
• Scan and bag items efficiently and in compliance with food safety standards and company best practices.
• Minimize guest wait time while maintaining service and accuracy.
• Educate guests about current brand launches, store activities, and events.
• Promote Target Loyalty benefits and assist with enrollment; be familiar with all fulfillment services and direct guests to enroll, activate, and use them.
• Explain wallet and Target App features to guests.
• Process returns following policies and escalate to leaders as needed.
• De-escalate situations and recover the guest shopping experience per policies and procedures.
• Provide easy and accurate service for Order Pick Up, Drive Up, and Registry guests.
• Maintain a clean, clutter-free work area; stock supplies during store hours while remaining available for guests.
• Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance; work safely and report hazards.
• Support guest services such as OPU, Drive-Up, DU Returns, and maintain compliance with laws and policies.
• Support cash office processes as needed, including cash systems management.
• All other duties based on business needs.
