Shift: M-F 7:30AM-4:30PM
Responsibilities- Forms a variety of tasks (phlebotomy, specimen transport, specimen processing for in-house and send out testing at reference laboratories, answering telephone calls, reviewing pending logs, etc.). Support the technical and administrative staff in the laboratory. Performs billing functions, when applicable. Performs other duties as assigned by department leadership. Make routine decisions (actions to take for patient satisfaction, when to escalate issues, when to ask leadership for guidance, etc.).
Work is guided by standard operating procedures, policies, and service standards. This role plays a key role in patient satisfaction and pre-analytic phase of testing (quality of patient samples collected, turnaround time from sample collection to delivery, etc.). Work is standard, consistent and structured.
- Minimum Education: High school diploma
- Minimum Experience: 1 year experience working in a laboratory/clinical setting
- Preferred Education: Certificate/Diploma in phlebotomy
- Skills/Abilities: Professional demeanor, effective collaboration and communication skills ensuring teamwork with coworkers and providers. Knowledge of regulatory requirements and good laboratory practices. Excellent customer service skills
