The Flight Department at the Prescott campus is seeking Assistant Chief Flight Instructors to support the Flight Department. Job duties include:

  • Provide overall management for approximately 20 instructors and 150 to 200 flight students.
  • Responsible for training quality and student service.
  • Ensure proper conduct and enforcement of safety standards, regulations, and procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with university and FAA policies.
  • Assist, counsel, and resolve problems; make disciplinary recommendations as needed.
  • Attend weekly meetings with the Chief Flight Instructor and Department Chair.
  • Participate in student progress briefings and team meetings.
  • Manage instructor schedules and resource utilization.
  • Verify student eligibility and meet with students and families regarding progress.
  • Participate in instructor hiring, conduct checks, and other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Must hold a Commercial Pilot Certificate and a Flight Instructor Certificate with Airplane Single-Engine Land and Instrument privileges.
  • Must hold at least a 2nd class medical certificate.
  • Meet minimum requirements for Assistant Chief under 14 CFR part 141 (preferred).

Required skills, knowledge, abilities:

Strong analytical skills and technical expertise with Microsoft Office Suite, Internet applications, and information systems.
