Customer Service Rep, Retail Associate/ Customer Service
Provide an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages customers to return. Assist the department manager in accomplishing sales and profit goals and monitor all quality assurance standards. Responsibilities- Role model the 3A’s of Friendly: acknowledge, assist and appreciate customers.
- Promote corporate brands to customers.
- Promote trust and respect among associates.
- Create an environment where customers feel welcomed and appreciated by answering product questions.
- Maintain product knowledge and make suggestions to customers.
- Assist with produce platters/trays and inform customers of specials.
- Recommend items to ensure customers receive what they need.
- Prepare, package, label and inventory merchandise.
- Review products for quality and freshness; take appropriate action.
- Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
- Report product ordering or shipping discrepancies to the manager.
- Display a positive attitude.
- Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
- Ensure proper temperature in cases and coolers; maintain logs.
- Reinforce safety programs, identify unsafe conditions and notify store management.
- Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying managers of needed repairs.
- Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
- Report all safety risks or issues, including robbery, theft or fraud to store management.
- Work cooperatively in a high‑paced and sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary.
- Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults.
- Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Handle stressful situations.
- Effective communication skills.
- Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction).
- Current food handler permit once employed.
Desired previous experience: comparable retail experience and second language (speaking, reading, and/or writing).
