American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg Tele RN with a minimum of 2 years' experience, current ACLS and BLS certifications, and a valid AZ or compact RN license for night shifts.

• Work in a 30-bed Med/Surg Telemetry (MST/PCU) unit within an acute care hospital
• Patient population includes post-surgical, medical, and telemetry patients with conditions such as total joint replacement, bowel surgery, infection, psychiatric, drug/alcohol withdrawal, respiratory illness, and cardiac monitoring
• Nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1:5-6
• 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend required (Friday and Saturday)
• First to float to Multi Care Unit, Pediatric unit (adult patients only), and West Campus Med/Surg Tele as needed
• Care for stable CPAP or BiPAP patients but no titration of drips required
• Remote Monitor Techs available, but RNs required to read their own tele strips
• Charting system is Cerner; prior Cerner experience preferred
• Expected to precept nursing students as needed
• Charge RN manages multiple units including MST, PEDS, and MCU
• Nurse aides take 10-15 patients; in their absence, RNs may have adjusted patient loads
• Unit provides specific orientation based on experience, in addition to hospital orientation
• Holiday rotation schedule applies to all staff
• Required to wear any color scrubs other than camouflage
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• May be required to complete additional competency testing on sterile technique during orientation
• First time travelers will be considered

• Active AZ or compact (NLC) RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant RN experience, including at least 1 year in Med/Surg
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips is essential
• Must pass dysrhythmia competency exam prior to contract start (two attempts allowed)
• CPAP and BiPAP patient care experience preferred
• Must be willing to care for both Med/Surg and PCU patient populations
• Must provide two professional references (supervisor within last 12 months and peer or supervisor within last 3 years) including dates of employment and rehire eligibility
• Must not have been employed by any Common Spirit, CHI, or Dignity facility in the past year
