Reporting to the Assistant Director, WIOA Title I-B, the Career Navigator will empower Youth (in or out of school), Adults, and Dislocated Workers at the One-Stop Center in Prescott, AZ, with regular travel between One-Stop locations in Prescott, Prescott Valley, and Verde Valley. Collaborating with the Director and Assistant Director, who lead strategic planning, budget management, and employer engagement, the Career Navigator will provide mentoring, career planning, job readiness workshops, and support services to help participants achieve credentials and secure sustainable careers.

Expertise in career coaching, event planning, and business relationship-building is essential to organize job fairs, engage stakeholders, and guide participants into WIOA Title II programs for a High School Equivalency (HSE) or HSE + Career Ready Pathway (combining HSE preparation with career training). Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills are required, with training provided to understand Title II.

Responsibilities Advising and Mentoring
  • Provide one-on-one counseling tailored to Youth (in or out of school), Adults, and Dislocated Workers, setting educational and career goals.
  • Build trusting relationships with diverse, multiethnic, and multicultural participants.
  • Mentor participants to navigate challenges like workforce re-entry or credential attainment.
Career Planning and Workshops
  • Develop personalized career plans, identify training or certification needs, and connect participants to resources such as apprenticeships or Yavapai College’s ETPL-listed certificate programs.
  • Deliver job readiness workshops (e.g., resume writing, interviewing) customized for participant groups, including job fairs to promote employment opportunities.
Support Services
  • Connect participants to services (e.g., transportation, childcare) to remove barriers.
  • Partner with WIOA Title II’s HSE + Career Ready Pathway and other stakeholders for comprehensive support.
Data and Reporting
  • Maintain accurate participant records using digital tools (e.g., spreadsheets, databases).
  • Generate reports on progress and WIOA compliance, following cases for one year post-goal for job retention and reporting.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of advising/counseling experience, OR 6 years of relevant experience in career development.
  • Demonstrated experience in career coaching, event planning, and business relationship-building, with a strong commitment to organizing job fairs and engaging stakeholders to meet workforce needs.
  • Proven ability to support diverse, multiethnic, and multicultural populations, including Youth (in or out of school), Adults, and Dislocated Workers.
  • Ability to learn WIOA Title II programs (training provided) to guide participants into High School Equivalency (HSE) or HSE + Career Ready Pathway options.
  • Knowledge of WIOA Title I-B regulations, federal/state compliance requirements, or willingness to learn.
  • Proficiency in digital tools (e.g., spreadsheets, databases) for data entry and report compilation.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Regular in-person attendance and travel between One-Stop locations in Prescott, Prescott Valley, and Verde Valley are essential job functions.
  • A valid Level I Fingerprint Clearance Card is required to be considered for hire. If you do not possess one, please begin the application process before or when applying. Processing typically takes 10–15 business days.
  • Experience in WIOA or core partner environments (Title I-B, Title II, Title III, or Title IV), with skills in job fairs or stakeholder outreach, or a strong willingness to learn and apply WIOA standards.
  • Familiarity with Arizona WIOA core partner services, ETPL programs, employer engagement, or commitment to developing these competencies through training.
  • Collaboration in grant-funded programs, including cross-title coordination, or eagerness to acquire grant-related skills to support WIOA objectives.
