Parks & Rec Program Assistant

This position is responsible for assisting in keeping scores in various sports and helping with the operation and maintenance of the concession stand. Successful performance contributes to an efficient and safe environment for the public.

• Operate electronic score system.
• Keep score books for each game.

• Sells concessions including soft drinks and food items to spectators at various events.
• Receives money and makes correct change for customers.
• Monitors money in the cash drawer to ensure adequate change is available.

• Cleans concession stand area.
• Counts revenues as assigned by supervisor.
• Checks facilities and restrooms for cleanliness; restocks supplies as needed.
• Performs other duties as needed or assigned.

• Must be at least fifteen (15) years of age.
• Basic knowledge and understanding of scoring used in sports preferred.
• Must have a valid driver's license and/or dependable transportation.

Job duties are typically performed while intermittently sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching or stooping. Employees occasionally lift light and heavy objects, climb ladders, use equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity, distinguish between shades of color, and utilize the sense of smell.

Job duties are typically outdoors, occasionally in extreme or inclement weather. Employees are exposed to noise, dust, dirt, and irritating chemicals.

Job duties may require the use of protective devices such as masks, goggles, gloves, etc.

Job duties require the ability to deal with and relate to people beyond giving and receiving instructions.

Job duties require the ability to talk, express, or exchange ideas by means of spoken words and/or hear and perceive the nature of sounds by ear.

Job candidates must be able to adapt to and perform under moderate stress.

Job duties require regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
