About the Position
Ensemble Schools is seeking a fun, experienced, and professional guitar or guitar/voice/piano i
nstructor to teach part-time at Music House School of Music, Prairie Village and Overland Park locations. The instructor will teach in person, primarily on Monday and Thursday nights between 3‑9 pm, and will be able to lead early childhood (ages 4‑5) group classes.
- Teaching private lessons that build on student strengths and interests.
- Leading group classes through the Music House curriculum.
- Attending monthly faculty meetings.
- Assisting with community events per year (recitals, jam sessions, faculty concerts).
- Communicating with parents, faculty, and administrative staff.
- Tracking attendance and maintaining detailed teaching notes.
- Signing students up for performances and preparing them for group and individual presentations.
- Creating or following lesson plans and teaching guides.
- Bachelor's degree in music education or performance preferred.
- At least 1 year of teaching experience; group teaching experience is a plus.
- Performance experience in both individual and ensemble settings.
- Excellent written, spoken, and listening communication skills.
- Organized, detail‑oriented, and able to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proficient with technology, including computers, mobile devices, browsers, and online applications.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to pass a routine background check.
Instructor pay is commensurate with experience and will be in the range of 24‑ 28 per hour. A 401(K) program with employer matching is available to all employees after 90 days. Health benefit packages are available for all part‑ and full‑time employees.
This posting is for Music House School of Music at our Prairie Village and Overland Park, KS locations. Music House teachers are part of a team of over 25 teachers and 10 administrators who collectively develop a strong organization. With three locations and around 700 weekly students, the environment supports growth, collaboration, and constant change.
