Job SummaryGeneral Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in remotely piloted aircraft, tactical reconnaissance radars, and advanced surveillance systems. We are seeking a Cybersecurity Architect for our Systems Cybersecurity Engineering department to support Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). The role involves compliance with Accreditation & Authorization (A&A), Interim Authority to Test (IATT), Authorization to Operate (ATO), and RMF processes, ensuring security across aircraft, datalinks, sensor payloads, and ground control stations.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- The Cybersecurity Architect must have experience assessing an overarching set of environments including hardware/system configurations to:
- Develop security engineering solutions for UAS hardware and software
- Communicate status of the project to stakeholders
- Ensure cyber risks are mitigated and communicated effectively to the customer
- Be responsive to information technology guidelines, policies and directives
- Implement and maintain security features and develop test procedures
- Educate non‑cybersecurity personnel about the cybersecurity engineering process and importance of cybersecurity
- An understanding of encryption, firewalls, antivirus, etc. is required for this position.
- Typically requires a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information technology or related field and nine or more years of progressive experience in cybersecurity. A bachelor's degree and seven or more years of experience or a master's degree and nine or more years may be substituted.
- Must demonstrate expertise in cybersecurity principles, theories and concepts.
- Must have project leadership skills including organizing, scheduling, and coordinating work assignments to meet project milestones or established completion dates for major programs.
- Must be able to provide leadership in developing new processes or systems, resolve unusually complex technical matters, and serve as a leader on projects.
- Must be customer focused and possess:
- The ability to identify issues, analyze and interpret data and develop innovative solutions to a variety of complex technical problems;
- Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, report, and present findings to a variety of audiences including management and external parties;
- Excellent interpersonal skills to influence and guide all levels of employees, including management and external parties;
- The ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information;
- The ability to represent the company as a technical expert on external projects; and
- Excellent computer skills.
- The ability to work independently or lead a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours and travel as required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance is required.
Full‑time position. Salary range: $116,480 – $208,505.
