Job Summary
The primary function of this position is to assist operations and construction, including providing technical support for field staff, assist in building job packets for contractors, inspecting new and old infrastructure, and communicating with the Telecom team.

Schedule: Monday – Thursday 6:30 am – 5:00 PM, occasional overtime, evenings & weekends
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Read, analyze, and interpret general business or governmental regulations.
- Ability to assist in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Assist in responding to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Define problems, collect data, to assist Outside Plant Engineer II in drawing valid conclusions.
- Assist in planning & scheduling principles.
- Ability to review and apply all applicable District, State, and Federal policies, standards and regulations pertaining to safety and the environment.
- Work effectively under pressure with frequent interruptions.
- Regularly communicates clearly, respectfully, and effectively with all levels of management, clients, and staff on project progress.
- Solve problems, take action, take ownership.
- Assist and support outside plant operations.
- Manage and enforce District requirements for construction projects.
- Support the installation, maintenance, and updates of the fiber optic network.
- Implement engineering standards and develop engineer specifications.
- Assisting in building work orders and performing field work for plant operations.
- Interact with clients to establish project scope, budget, and timelines regarding telecom processes and installation.
- Utilize knowledge and experience to troubleshoot, identify, and repair problems on the network.
- Perform all work as necessary to conform to quality control guidelines, including compliance with requirements outlined in applicable regulations such as: OSHA, FCC, NESC and NEC, etc. as well as following procedures as outlined in the Installation, Technical, Operations and Safety Manuals and Employee Handbook.
- Assist in all tasks needed to achieve all permits needed for a job.
- Clean, maintain, stock, and secure assigned vehicle and equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Could require work outside of normal work hours, including weekends and emergency calls.
- Minimum 3 years of skilled trade, professional work experience in Telecommunication operations, maintenance and construction knowledge or equivalent experience.
- Assisting Outside Plan Engineer II in duties and deliverables including reading and interpreting construction plans, drawings, specifications, and other applicable documents.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of industry standards, processes, materials, and equipment.
- Ability to learn Microsoft Excel;
Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Word. Basic knowledge is required in Microsoft Outlook;
General Office Equipment including printers, computers, fax machines and phones; and Internet Explorer. - Must possess a valid Washington State driver’s license.
Working conditions include the ability to lift, and move up to 50 pounds, specific vision required; close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus with color vision, frequently sitting or standing for extended periods, office and in field, moderate noise level, occasionally exposed to high noise level, occasionally around moving traffic.
