Role Overview

The Area Manager will have a home store location and assist the District Manager in maximizing the sales and profit of the retail locations in their assigned geographic territory through management, sales leadership, training and development, execution of non-negotiable standards of operation, cost control, and asset protection.

The role is responsible for overseeing both Poughkeepsie and Crystal run stores.

Multi-Store Leadership
  • Possess a strong business acumen with the ability to flex and adjust to account for internal and external factors.
  • Implement strategies to engage and retain employees at the multi-store level, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Conduct Stay Interviews with team members to understand areas of opportunity and success.
  • Mentor, coach, and counsel the store managers within the assigned area.
  • Maintain open lines of communication, encouraging employees to voice their ideas, concerns, and feedback to promote a collaborative work environment.
  • Implement and manage company employee recognition programs for the assigned area.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to help employees improve and stay motivated.
  • Lead, coach, and motivate through positive, enthusiastic brand representation and present solutions for ongoing challenges.
  • Consistently trains, coaches, and holds managers accountable to our customer engagement model, IT’SUGARTAINMENT.
  • Makes staffing decisions, including employment, training, task assignment, promotion, disciplinary action, and termination for assigned functions.
  • Host regular regional calls to communicate updates, share best practices, and address any team concerns or questions.
  • Participate in all Regional initiatives as defined by Store Operations Leadership.
  • Responsible for proactively attracting and retaining qualified candidates to ensure proper backfill for all leadership positions within assigned area. Recruiting and networking with internal and external candidates with a proven ability to develop and maintain sincere, authentic relationships.
  • Participates in the selection process for Store Managers and facilitates onboarding, training, and coaching to ensure that policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Hires candidates based on IT’SUGAR’S core values.
  • Establish a Collaborative Selling Culture in the assigned area, ensuring Managers/ Associates/Supervisors are trained in all IT’SUGAR selling training programs.
  • Leverage business analysis to drive profitable sales growth for the assigned area.
Store Operations
  • Oversees all operational standards for the assigned geographical area.
  • Oversee the allocated budget for assigned stores.
  • Maintain a model store to demonstrate ideal store setup and operational excellence.
  • Maintain consistent communication with Store Managers regarding product recommendations to increase sales/inventory.
  • Approve employee timecards for your Area bi-weekly, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Collaborate with the district manager to approve and adjust employee pay rates per our policies.
  • Conduct store visits using the standardized store visit form to ensure consistency and adherence to company standards.
