Responsibilities
  • Provide best‑in‑class guest service: greet guests promptly, respond to questions quickly and courteously, assist guests with gaming needs, inform about promotions, and recommend additional items.
  • Support the total shopping environment, visual and operational aspects, sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
  • Process guest purchases and returns accurately on the Point‑of‑Sale system, ensuring correct changes, receipt provision, and top‑notch service.
  • Handle phone calls promptly and professionally, escalating issues to the Store Manager when appropriate.
  • Promote Game Stop’s guest benefits, including new title reservations, trade‑in, and Pro Rewards programs.
  • Assist the Store Manager in setting service expectations and training associates on policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Observe associate performance, provide feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance per store guidelines.
  • Record directed recognition and performance feedback in Workday/HR system.
  • Ensure associates complete onboarding, job training, and compliance training before opening or closing shifts.
  • Coordinate scheduling to meet staffing guidelines, breaks, and meals.
  • Approve payroll entries, paid time off, and verify accurate compensation.
  • Maintain all store areas, including restrooms, clean, organized, and merchandise‑aligned per company standards.
  • Fulfill and ship Omni‑Channel orders daily.
  • Protect assets through inventory control, loss prevention, and daily bank deposits.
  • Support the team in exceeding sales, profit, and shrink goals while completing administrative duties.
  • Perform inventory counts, stock/restock fixtures, and keep merchandise organized and alphabetized.
  • Reconcile daily transactions and ensure accurate closeout paperwork and bank deposits.
  • Verify shipments, record discrepancies, and communicate issues to management.
  • Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls accurately.
  • Maintain safety awareness, address hazards, and report injuries promptly.
  • Keep store records/files neat and organized.
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to associates in the Store Manager’s absence.
  • Adhere to all game

    Stop policies, including the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards.
  • Follow all opening and closing procedures.
Qualifications
  • Proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States.
  • At least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or accredited bachelor’s degree with emphasis in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.
  • At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred.
  • At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
  • Video game knowledge preferred.
