Registered Nurse – FT Night, Emergency Department

SummaryThe Registered Nurse provides direct patient care guided by the ANA scope of practice. The RN collaborates with patients, family or significant others, peers, physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver healthcare services. The RN assesses patient needs, plans and implements care, evaluates outcomes, and follows hospital policies and nursing standards, demonstrating leadership, accountability and professional growth.
Responsibilities- Completes patient assessment and reassessment as clinically indicated.
- Documents detailed information incorporating the plan of care, interventions, and outcomes reflecting the patient’s physical, mental, and emotional status.
- Ensures appropriate documentation based on the level of care, including transfer/discharge documentation.
- Follows the five Rights of Medication Administration and verbalizes medication information to patients/families, assessing for allergies, parameters, potential side effects, and effectiveness; documents response per hospital policy.
- Coordinates and supervises the delivery of nursing care, including delegation of tasks.
- Maintains accountability for delegated care.
- Actively promotes a culture of safety.
- Assesses patients for potential safety risks.
- Adheres to hospital policies and procedures regarding patient safety; initiates interventions related to identified risk factors.
- Conducts bedside shift reports and rounds with peers at change of shift.
- Documents the application of the nursing process in an ethical, accountable manner.
- Assesses learning needs of patients/families and provides instruction using applicable teaching methods; documents response.
- Cares for specific patient populations regardless of location as necessary.

- Education:
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred. - Experience:
At least one year of Emergency Room RN experience. - License:
Current New York State license to practice as a registered nurse; BLS and ACLS required. - Credentials: RN, BLS, ACLS.
Hourly: $45.96 – $69.75
