Acts as facilitator, educator and resource person for staff, physicians and breastfeeding families throughout the childbearing cycle. Provides educational programs and participates in the development and implementation of a comprehensive breastfeeding program. Assists in establishing and maintaining the standard of care for breastfeeding families through participation in continuous quality improvement activities.

• Education:
  
  BSN required, MS preferred. Graduate from accredited school of nursing.
• Experience:
  
  Requires a minimum of three years of experience in Maternal Child Health Nursing. A minimum of 1 year teaching experience with adult learners preferred.
• License:
  Current NYS Registered Nurse license.
• Certifications:
  
  Maintains lactation consultant (IBLCE) and a Basic Life Support Provider (BLS) certification.

• Manual:
  Some manual skills/motor coordination & finger dexterity.
• Occupational:
  Some occupational risk.
• Physical Effort:
  Medium to Heavy effort. May exert up to 35 lbs. force.
• Physical Environment:
  Significant exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
• Credentials: RN, BLS, IBCLC.
