Retail & Store Manager
The SK Midwest District Manager is responsible for overseeing several stores in an assigned area, reporting directly to the COO. As a role model and leader, the District Manager is ultimately responsible for ensuring our store teams deliver the highest level of guest services. Through store visits and communication, most time is spent supervising and directing store teams to maintain the daily operational functions in each location, including but not limited to driving sales and profitability, preparation, and quality our products, inventory and ordering, controlling expenses and payroll budgets, as well as safety and loss prevention practices.
The District Manager ensures stores are staffed with quality, caring employees and actively assists in team development, employee relations and performance management.
- Uphold and lead in our exemplary Guest Service expectation, through interactive, genuine experiences that share passion and detailed knowledge about our nutritional smoothies and healthy options.
- Have strategic planning skills and foresight in many areas including traffic and business trends, competitive analysis, talent planning and facilities management.
- Skilled at driving compliance and excellence through training, recognition, and performance management. Utilize auditing tools to monitor sales and recordkeeping, safekeeping of liquid assets and property, personnel, and employee relations practices, and overall maintenance of stores.
- Maintain strong expense controls throughout district and stores, adjusting practices as needed to meet benchmarks and goals.
- Communicate with teams in a professional and even manner, following up with teams as needed for clarity and comprehension of information and expectations.
- Lead by example, following all policies and procedures. Show integrity in interactions with teams, leadership, vendors and guests.
- Flexible and agile with the ability to lead teams through times of change and growth with a positive and embracing approach.
- Source and assist team in gaining brand awareness by marketing through events and community involvement.
- Follow scheduling and travel guidelines as outlined for role, with flexibility based on the needs of the stores and global business impacts. Submit upcoming weeks’ schedule by Friday of preceding week.
- DMs are required to travel extensively from store to store (up to 90%) within a given geographic area, visiting each store twice a month, except for remote locations.
- Locations deemed remote (5+ hrs. drive time or flight) are required to be visited once every 2 months, with exception only when partnered with their Regional Manager or COO.
- Willingness to travel overnight for distant store visits, training and/or business meetings.
- Ability to work varying days and hours based on the needs of the business, including some weekends and holidays.
- DMs are expected to work 2 weekend days each month, defined as Saturday and/or Sunday during non-peak period.
- Pay $75K/year
- Lead both by example and direction in a fast-paced environment.
- Company car provided.
- Company car is able to be used for travel from store to store.
- Must tolerate exposure to a wide variety of fresh, dried and/or frozen products and powdered substances, including, but not limited to, strawberries, bananas, peanuts, tree nuts (such as almonds), milk, soy, proteins, grains, and spices without posing a direct threat to personal health and safety.
- Ability to move boxes weighing up to 50lbs throughout the store.
- Ability to position self to bend, reach and scoop through assigned shifts and stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to be mobile in walk-in refrigerator and freezer with temperatures ranging from 40° F to
-10° F
