Infrastructure & Technology Network Support Engineer POUGHKEEPSIE

The IBM Infrastructure Network operations team is looking for a Network support personal, to provide, configure and maintain Network environments for internal IBM development and test teams. The goal of the Network Operations support services team is to provide the framework that allows our global community of developers, testers, and partners to accomplish their objectives through the use of a secure and dynamic network environment.

Your role and responsibilities

• Network operating system install, customize and maintain support of network hardware, software and operational procedures.
• Plan hardware and software system upgrades, changes in configuration, running installation jobs and scripts.
• Perform installation-specific customization tasks.
• Install and maintain network security products.
• Basic knowledge of networking and familiarity with Juniper hardware is a plus.
• Receive support from mentors and coaches who encourage innovative thinking and practical solutions.

Required education

• High School Diploma/GED
• Preferred education:
  
  Master s Degree

Required technical and professional expertise

• Strong understanding of IP (Internet Protocol) and other network administration protocols.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Juniper SRX firewall General education
• Python and Ansible languages
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Good written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills in English.
• Highly self-motivated and directed.
• Keen attention to detail.
• Ability to conduct research into IT networking issues and products as required.
• Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
• Team-oriented and skilled in working within a collaborative environment.

Preferred technical and professional experience

• IT engineering education
• An understanding of contemporary and legacy security Network technologies.
• Proven analytic skills and the ability to isolate and resolve complex issues.
• Demonstrated ability to defend and support ideas.
• Demonstrated communication skills.
• Experience working across diverse teams to facilitate solutions
