Position Summary: The Shelter Clinician will conduct mental health assessments, screen for human trafficking concerns, and provide crisis intervention services. Additionally, they will be responsible for intake assessments and will provide weekly therapy to the youth and facilitate group therapy. The Clinician is also responsible for providing clinical guidance to case managers and direct care staff and will provide additional professional support at treatment team meetings concerning mental health and behavioral issues.

• Conduct and maintain strong collaborative relationships with Case Managers working with the UC to reunify them with a family member or sponsor.
• Maintain constant and open communication with Case Managers regarding family/sponsor relationships and mental health status in accordance with ORR policy.
• Show sensitivity and support for children’s cultural and ethnic heritage and values.
• Determine case complexity and provide clinical insights on referrals and post‑release services.
• Work on case mitigations and develop post‑release care plans.
• Plan with the Lead Clinician, Case Managers and ORR for conferences and staffing meetings to discuss service plans, progress, and other youth issues.
• Provide ongoing mental health assessment per UC documentation regulations and develop developmentally & culturally sensitive, trauma‑informed therapy services.
• Lead psycho‑educational groups with placed UC.
• Assist in coordination of discharge or transfer of each child with program staff and ensure delivery of appropriate summaries.
• Document UC Portal records, prepare summaries, maintain progress notes, incorporate significant incidents into case record, and upload to UC Portal.
• Ensure both paper and electronic case records comply with CHP and ORR procedures.
• Maintain individual therapeutic relationships with each UC.
• Participate in ongoing professional development through seminars, conferences, workshops, or higher education study.
• Keep up to date with Children’s Home, OCFS, and ORR policies to ensure program compliance.
• Maintain on‑call responsibilities for the UC program, including ORR calls.
• Accept other tasks as delegated by the Program Director or required by ORR.

Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m.

- 5:00 p.m. with flexibility to meet program needs. Alternate schedule:
Monday and Wednesday 10:00 a.m.

- 6:00 p.m.;
Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 9:00 a.m.

- 5:00 p.m. (Saturday‑Sunday OFF). Both schedules include rotating on‑call responsibilities.

• MSW and at least 2 years of postgraduate direct service delivery experience. Alternatively, a Master's degree in psychology, sociology, or a related behavioral science field with a clinical experience requirement.
• Clinicians must be licensed or license eligible.
• Proficient in Spanish.

• Related clinical experience.
• Availability to travel within the U.S. for reunifications under exigent circumstances (e.g., separated or severely traumatized tender‑aged children).
