Overview

Dutchess BOCES is seeking a School Social Worker to provide school-based mental health services in our therapeutic day treatment program. The social worker will deliver individual, group, and family therapy, collaborate with educators and families, and support the integration of evidence-based practices, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), into the school day to promote students’ emotional, behavioral, and academic growth.

Terms of Employment
  • Full-time, 10-month, tenure track assignment.
  • Competitive salary; negotiable based on qualifications and experience, per CBA.

REPORTS TO: Principal and/or Coordinator of Related and Itinerant Services

SUPERVISES: N/A

Qualifications
  • NYS Certification in School Social Work
  • Preferred LCSW license in New York State
  • Experience with children and adolescents, ideally in school or outpatient settings
  • Knowledge of DBT and trauma-informed care preferred
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy for students with emotional and behavioral needs.
  • Support transition and IEP planning, offering social-emotional insight.
  • Collaborate with staff, families, and the Clinical Program Lead to integrate therapeutic strategies in school routines.
  • Coordinate wraparound supports and community resources.
  • Maintain documentation and contribute to program evaluation and improvement.
