• Organizes and oversees the Food Service Department in conjunction with the Patient Service Manager and Food Service Director and all related activities at the assigned location within the Nuvance System. This will include any one or more of the following:
  Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Northern Dutchess Hospital, Putnam Hospital Center, Nuvance Material Management Warehouse, The Fishkill Medical Mall, all Nuvance locations and other community-based locations.

• Ensures day-to-day operations of the Food Services Department for all areas including patient meal service, catering service, cafeteria operation and related duties.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies such as New York State Department of Health, County Department of Health, JCAHO, DEC and CMS and maintains a sanitary, attractive, and orderly Food Service Department environment.
• Plans daily department work assignments and leads to ensure adequate coverage for department activities.
• Oversees patient meal delivery to ensure meals are served according to schedule; monitors food temperatures and plate presentation to meet standards.
• Ensures retail outlets use proper food handling, infection control, and sanitation practices and maintains clean, organized dining areas.
• Communicates employee performance or behavior concerns to a supervisor; assists with orientation, training and education of employees; implements HR policies and procedures fairly and consistently.
• Adheres to department budget and coordinates operations within approved budget guidelines.
• Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment to meet department demands.
• Promotes clear communication within the department to share information for effective operations and positive employee relations; communicates clearly in written and verbal form.
• Maintains knowledge of developments by attending seminars and workshops as scheduled by Nuvance.
• Demonstrates excellent customer relations in interactions with patients, visitors, doctors, employees, and services.
• Maintains and models Nuvance Health Values and demonstrates regular, reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as required.

• Serve Safe Certification required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire
