Job Title
CT Technologist - FT Days at Nuvance Health
PurposeComputed Tomography (CT) Technologist demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to produce diagnostic CT images of designated anatomic areas as prescribed by established scan protocols, while providing appropriate care to patients served by the department of radiology.
Essential Responsibilities- Coordinates timely throughput for CT patients, prioritizing exams based on priority level and escalating hurdles to Lead CT Technologist or Manager.
- Properly identifies patients using two identifiers, verifies imaging orders, assesses pregnancy risk, and schedules or prioritizes as needed.
- Explains procedures to patients with professionalism and compassion.
- Performs IV cannulation as prescribed by a Licensed Independent Practitioner, uses aseptic technique per NYS DOH scope of practice, and conducts iStat testing per established policies.
- Positions patients to ensure comfort and modesty, selects appropriate imaging protocols, maintains high positional accuracy, and adjusts exposure techniques for optimal images.
- Operates power injectors and administers contrast media under supervising physician oversight, following department policy and regulatory standards.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and practices radiation safety.
- Proficiently operates post‑processing workstations, critiques exams for completeness and correct labeling, verifies exams in RIS, and archives studies to PACS.
- Follows infection control guidelines, cleans and disinfects scanner and exam rooms, and stocks assigned rooms before and after shifts.
- Protocols exams for the next day, flags contraindications, and requests revised orders as necessary.
- Coordinates all aspects of patient care, including transportation, communication with nursing units, and maintaining confidentiality while monitoring patient comfort.
- Minimum Graduate of a School of Radiologic Technology.
- Preferred Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience.
- American College of Radiology (ARRT) CT Certification or acquisition within 1 year of hire.
- Valid New York State (NYS) Radiological License with Injection.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
Manual: significant manual skills/motor coordination & finger dexterity. Occupational:

Medium to Heavy effort; may exert up to 35 lbs. Physical Environment:
Some exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
Salary Range: $32.23 - $59.86 Hourly
