Overview
Community Instructor - Medical Education (Per Diem)
Summary:
Nuvance Health Community Health Education (CHE) Programs seeks a hard-working, computer literate, customer focused and academically minded associate to educate the community in our basic layperson level Community Health Training Programs which may include topics such as CPR, First Aid, Child Safety, Mental Health, Basic Life Support, and other targeted programs for individuals of all ages and backgrounds. The community instructor I plays a pivotal role in providing support to our community through in-person instruction at our Nuvance locations and various business locations throughout NY and CT.
Instructors may also participate in community events like health fairs and child safety events.
Responsibilities:
Education and Experience Requirements:
HS Diploma;
Associates degree in health, education or related field preferred but not required.
Prior experience as educator, public health, public relations, or customer service experience, preferred but not required.
Minimum Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities
Requirements:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including:
Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and Power Point - Easily adapts to new technology and windows-based programs
- Ability to utilize AV equipment for presentations
- Highly skilled and comfortable lecturer with ability to adapt language to suit various levels of community knowledge
- Quickly learn and adapt to new curriculum requirements, updates, and topics
- Demonstrate excellent time management skills.
- Ability to travel to various locations throughout NY and CT.
License, Registration, or Certification Requirements:
- Preferred:
American Heart Association BLS Instructor Certification, American Heart Association Heartsaver Instructor Certification, AVERT Instructor Certification, Emergency Care & Safety Institute Instructor Certification, Mental Health First Aid Instructor Certification, Safe Kids Child Safety Seat Technician Certification, or other relevant instructor certification deemed appropriate by the Community Health Director. - AHA First Aid & CPR AED Certification (or higher level) required within 30 days of hire. Our team can provide the training for the right fit.
- Have and maintain a clean driving record.
- Obtain instructor level certification within 60 days of hire in one or more of the following areas:
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), Safe Kids Child Safety Seat Technician (CPST), Mental Health First Aid Instructor, AVERT Instructor, Emergency Care & Safety Institute (ECSI) Instructor, or other Instructor level certification as deemed necessary by the Community Health Director. We have the ability to train the right fit.
