Job SummaryThe Department of Chemistry, Biochemistry, & Physics (CBP) at Marist University invites applications for a full-time Lecturer in Chemistry beginning Fall 2026. The successful candidate will teach primarily Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry lecture and laboratory courses in a department that values a supportive and inclusive academic environment.
Minimum Qualifications- Master’s degree in Chemistry or closely related field
The successful candidate will teach four courses each semester, consisting primarily of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry lecture and laboratory courses (labs count as a course). The ability to teach General Chemistry lecture and laboratory courses is preferred but not required. Lecturers are fully integrated into the life of the department and university. The successful candidate is expected to engage in university-wide service, including participation on committees, advising undergraduates, contributing to department growth, keeping the curriculum current, and participating in assessment and ACS‑approval activities.
Lecturers are encouraged to remain professionally active to the extent possible through research, conference/workshop attendance, and/or publication.
- Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in Chemistry or a closely related field
- Experience teaching Organic Chemistry and/or Biochemistry lecture and laboratory courses
- Ability to teach General Chemistry lecture and/or laboratory courses is desirable

- Tuition Benefits:
- Up to 16 undergraduate credits per semester. Up to 18 graduate credit per academic calendar. Eligibility extends to employee, spouse, and dependent children under age 26.
- University pays 100% tuition only.
- Eligible dependents may be Reimbursed up to $2,000 per semester towards tuition at another accredited institution.

About the Department/SchoolThe Department of Chemistry, Biochemistry, & Physics features modern laboratories in addition to updated instrumentation for teaching and research. The School of Science includes three other undergraduate programs in the basic sciences and allied health (Biology, Environmental Science and Policy, and Medical Technology) and two graduate programs (MS in Physician Assistant Studies and Doctor of Physical Therapy). Marist University does not offer a Physics degree;
