Vassar Brothers Medical Center
, located in Poughkeepsie, New York, 75 minutes north of New York City, is seeking an academically oriented Hematologist (classical and malignant hematology). This position will focus on treating patients with hematologic malignancies and will oversee evaluation of treatment for patients with classical hematology conditions, with advanced practitioner support. Our Cancer Institute is growing rapidly as we expand our clinical trial portfolio and position ourselves as a destination cancer program in this region.
The ideal candidate will be board certified/eligible in hematology and have post-fellowship experience and/or hematology-focused training.
***$50,000 sign-on bonus/retention package plus relocation allowance is available for full-time candidates.***
Vassar Brothers Medical Center provides our hospital system and multispecialty practice with tertiary oncology services and is accredited by The American College of Surgeons as a Comprehensive Community Cancer Program. Vassar has key elements of a comprehensive oncology service line in place, including state-of-the-art radiation oncology and surgical specialties in Breast, Thoracic, Gastrointestinal, Gynecologic, Genitourinary Oncology, and Hepatobiliary Surgery. Nurse navigation, Genetic counseling, and screening are available on site.
There is ample opportunity to pursue research and clinical trials.
Located on the banks of the Hudson River, Vassar Brothers Medical Center has a new 752,000 square-foot, eight-level inpatient pavilion with 263 private medical/surgical patient rooms and 30 critical care rooms. Vassar provides leading acute and critical emergency care in the region, including Level II Trauma Service and Interventional Neuroradiology. Vassar has established centers of excellence in cardiac services, neurosciences, cancer care, and women’s health.

Compensation: $400,000-$600,000 per year relative to experience and position.
