We are a hospital‑based group that offers a supportive and team‑based environment with exposure to multiple surgical subspecialties. The Surgical PA Service at Vassar Brothers Medical Center is seeking a board‑certified per‑diem Physician Assistant to join our team.

Responsibilities include OR coverage as well as management of admissions, consults, floor rounds, post‑op management and discharge of patients. This position is a great opportunity for growth and exposure to high acuity patients, complex procedures and a high volume of DaVinci Robotic Surgery cases.

• OR First Assisting – case coverage includes but is not limited to General Surgery, Colorectal, Hepatobiliary, GYN/Gyn Onc, Labor and Delivery, Plastic Surgery, Urology, Head and Neck, Bariatric Surgery, Endocrine Surgery, DaVinci Robotic Surgery.
• Rounding – surgical PAs round on general surgery and surgical oncology patients daily. This is done as a team‑based approach with attendings, residents, medical students and PA students.
• Admissions/Consults – surgical PA services are responsible for admissions and consults for patients in the emergency department and inpatient floors.
• Floor Procedures – surgical PAs are responsible for floor procedures including NG tube and difficult foley insertion, wound vac changes, bedside I&D.

• Qualifications – Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program and NCCPA certified with strong surgical and patient management experience.
• Candidates with at least one to three years of surgical experience or surgical residency training preferred; new graduates considered; new nurse practitioners with RNF certification and surgical experience acceptable.
