Position Title: Resident Director
Department/School: Office of Housing & Residential Life, Student Affairs
Salary/Pay Rate: $60,405.80 - $62,353.20
Job Summary: The Office of Housing and Residential Life at Marist University invites applications for the position of Resident Director. This position is responsible for the daily administration and operation of undergraduate housing. This is a 12-month, full-time, live-in position that requires participation in an after-hours on-call duty rotation.

The primary work location for this position is Poughkeepsie, NY. Local, on-campus work in Poughkeepsie, NY will be required as a condition of employment.

- Provide direct support for resident needs and serve as the primary administrator for all aspects of residential life.
- Understand resident and parent questions and concerns. Meet with residents and parents as appropriate through in-person meetings and phone calls to address these items, provide follow-up information, develop solutions, and resolve. Refer residents to appropriate campus resources, as needed.
- Mediate resident and roommate conflicts.
- Communicate RADAR & duty updates to supervisors.
- Prepare for and execute student conduct meetings, administration, and investigations. This includes management and documentation of violations to University policy and other incidents. Work with the Student Conduct Office.
- Oversee and assist the Residence Hall Council.
- Conduct wellness checks on residents.
- Conduct non-maintenance walkthroughs of area, including monitoring and maintaining “Broom Clean Standards” of area.
- Conduct Student Life Team Meetings.
- Manage the core business of the department through effective budgeting, reporting, and operational execution.
- Direct, assist, and execute all aspects of area openings/closings.
- Administer and reconcile area and project budgets, and authorize and prepare petty cash disbursement/cash advances/purchase orders.
- Train and supervise a Resident Assistant (student) staff to meet the needs of residents and the department.
- Administer and participate in RA Training across all areas and in specific areas, and continue to develop and motivate RAs through ongoing training and coaching.
