Staff Accountant - Construction Company (Dutchess County, NY)

We are partnering with a construction company in Dutchess County New York, they are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This position offers the opportunity to support our ongoing projects and contribute to the organization's financial success.

Responsibilities:

+ Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, reconciliations, and journal postings.

+ Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.

+ Support accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and regular financial reporting.

+ Analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and integrity.

+ Collaborate with project managers and other teams on cost-tracking and budget management.

+ Monitor compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

+ Aid in the maintenance and implementation of ERP systems and process improvements.

Requirements

Qualifications:

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred; relevant work experience considered in lieu of degree.

+ 1+ years of accounting experience, ideally in construction or project-based environments.

+ Proficiency with large ERP systems (open to experience with SAP, Oracle, Net Suite, Sage Intacct, or similar platforms).

+ Familiarity with GAAP and standard accounting practices.

+ Strong Excel skills and working knowledge of other common business software.

+ Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and communication abilities.

+ Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
