General Labor, Material Handler
Position Description
Position: Yard Person – Pottstown Location
Job Title: Yardman
Reports To: Yard Supervisor
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Employment Type: Full‑Time
Hours: 7:00 – 4:30, every other Saturday 7:00 – 12:00
- Pull, fill, pack, and set up orders for delivery or pickup.
- Maintain the ability to determine the status of an order at any time.
- Produce quality products to meet and exceed customer expectations.
- Follow any special instructions pertaining to an individual order.
- Receive shipments, log into inventory, and maintain inventory through audits.
- Report any quality or inventory discrepancy issues to the appropriate person.
- Communicate positively with supervisors, sales staff, fellow workers and customers to coordinate deliveries/pick‑ups.
- Operate a forklift safely and efficiently, maintain required certification, perform vehicle safety checks and report discrepancies to supervisor.
- Assist in keeping the facility clean, neat, safe and operating efficiently.
- Process returns accurately.
- Present a neat and professional image.
- Assist in keeping the facility secure.
- Maintain proficiency in computerized systems and other technologies as required.
- Seasonal requirement: assist with snow removal.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Experience:
No prior experience or training required. - Language

Able to perform simple math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and board footage). - Computer

Limited skills needed.
- Work overtime as needed and scheduled by management.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Recognize and understand product numbers and alpha/numeric codes.
- Operate forklift in compliance with OSHA requirements.
- Understand basic inventory, warehousing and stocking procedures.
- Able to work independently with some direction.
- Capable of following written and verbal instruction and documented procedures.
- Comfortable in a fast‑paced environment.
- Team player who works productively with a wide range of people.
- Manage time effectively and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
- Effective listening, verbal and written communication skills.

- Basic computer/keyboarding skills.
- Stand/walk for duration of work hours.
- Lift/carry or maneuver heavy material or equipment (up to 100 lbs.).
