The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00 per hour based on skills and experience. This position is non‑exempt and overtime eligible.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure that the attainment of Victory Housing, Inc. Mission Statement takes precedence over all decisions and actions.
  • Adhere to all Victory Housing policies and procedures, COMAR 10.07.14 regulations, and county, state and federal guidelines including but limited to DOH, CDC, CMS, and OSHA.
  • At all times implement universal precautions and infectious disease control protocols; wear assigned PPE appropriately per policy and as requested.
  • Complete all assigned training, including initial orientation, COMAR 10.07.14 requirements, monthly in‑services, HIPAA, VHI personal care and skills modules, and participate in required safety and disaster drills as assigned and mandated.
  • Coordinate with Registered Nurse/LPN on all matters relating to the Clinical Program and Medication Delivery System.
  • Read and document pertinent and objective information in the Communication Log for resident updates, status changes, and/or observations.
  • Administer medications and treatments using the EMAR platform. Administration includes:
    • Correct drug, resident, route, dosage, time, and charting.
    • Ensure medications are not expired.
    • Deliver medications to residents in suites or common areas in discreet approved locations (no medication passes in dining or living rooms).
    • Maintain confidentiality of resident medication among residents, visitors, volunteers, etc.
    • Verify resident identity with photo or name prior to administration.
    • Offer water, juice, or apple sauce when prescribed and observe swallowing.
    • Document medication completion in EMR; if system is down, document on paper MAR immediately after each pass.
    • Document resident concerns during the pass.
    • If a resident refuses prescribed medication, document the refusal and immediately report to the Health, Wellness Delegating RN/LPN/Coordinator.
    • Answer resident questions or concerns regarding medications.
    • After the pass, return any non‑dispensed medication to the cart and lock it.
    • Wash hands before and after the medication pass or whenever hands contact medication; use hand sanitizer if hands are not soiled.
    • Prepare medications for short‑term absences and document the record legibly.
    • Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of the medication cart and Wellness Center.
    • Restock the cart with cups and spoons after the pass.
    • Adhere to narcotics count policy by counting, verifying, signing, and dating the two checks at the beginning and end of each shift.
    • If the Delegating RN/LPN/Coordinator is absent, assist with medication delivery from the pharmacy and report discrepancies.
  • Assist with resident care and physical support, including assistance after a fall, in the bathroom or shower, toileting, emergency evacuation, etc.
  • Initiate and complete incident reports per policy and procedure.
  • Promote dignity for all residents and creatively meet resident needs as part of the team.
  • Promote teamwork by sharing responsibilities and information with Management, Clinical, and Care Teams.
  • Ensure quality of care by setting standards and creating a sense of security for residents.
  • Communicate with the Health, Wellness Delegating RN/LPN/Coordinator regarding all resident health care and wellness issues.
  • Serve meals in the dining room with utmost hospitality and customer service; deliver meals on a tray to residents in their suites if required.
  • Dining‑room responsibilities:
    • Wheelchairs are not permitted in the dining room; residents are walked to the dining table and assisted into their chair.
    • Set tables according to posted diagrams; ensure condiments, butter, creamers, and jellies are on each table.
    • Prepare a beverage stand ready to pour; strategically place tray stands.
    • Confirm all residents are in the dining room before service and assist them as needed.
    • Serve meals per the serving pattern or assigned tables; greet residents and request their choice and portion size.
