We are seeking a full‑time Project Engineer to join our Residential Design Group in our Loudoun office. This role is ideal for a motivated and innovative engineer with residential structural design experience who thrives in a collaborative environment. In this position, you will serve as a Project Manager for a wide variety of single‑family residential projects, including complex renovations, additions, and large high‑end custom homes.

You will take ownership of technical design, client communication, and project execution from concept through construction.

• Manage and design structural systems for residential projects, including renovations, additions, and custom homes.
• Develop and analyze 3D structural models using industry‑standard analysis software, including FORTE.
• Produce and oversee construction documents in Revit.
• Coordinate directly with architects, builders, and homeowners to ensure design intent and project alignment.
• Perform site visits, field observations, and prepare detailed field reports.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in accordance with firm standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and technical standards within the Residential Design Group.

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a Structural Engineering emphasis from an ABET‑accredited institution (Master’s degree preferred).
• 3–8 years of structural design experience with a strong focus on residential projects.
• Working knowledge of Revit required.
• Experience developing 3D structural analysis models (FORTE experience preferred).
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or active pursuit of licensure preferred.

• Strong understanding of residential structural systems and building codes.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
• Client‑focused mindset with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
