St. Andrew’s Episcopal School in Potomac, MD seeks a Head Varsity Girls Basketball coach for the school year.
QualificationsThe ideal candidate will have effective communication skills, strong organizational skills, a college degree, and successful experience coaching high school, AAU or college-level basketball. This is an exceptional opportunity for a coach to build upon and continue the tradition of the St. Andrew’s program.
SalaryMinimum Salary: $7,500
Maximum Salary: $10,000
This coaching position is not entitled to benefits other than sick leave as required by the state of Maryland.
Responsibilities- Oversee the entire Girls Basketball program to include teaching the fundamentals of the sport, implementing team expectations, and creating an optimal team environment.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline, and academic excellence.
- Possess strong communication and organizational skills.
- Attend regularly scheduled practices and games.
- Create a preseason practice schedule.
- Hire and select assistant coaches in conjunction with the Director of Athletics.
- Attend admissions-related events that help attract scholar‑athletes.
- Conduct out‑of‑season programs within league rules such as strength conditioning, leagues, off‑season workouts, and recruiting events.
- Facilitate and navigate the college recruiting process with families.
- Interact with student athletes of different ages and skill levels in a positive and professional manner.
