This is a full-time, on-site role for an Upper School Learning Specialist located in Potomac, MD. The Upper School Learning Specialist plays a key role in supporting students with diverse learning needs. Responsibilities include providing one-on-one and small group academic support, developing and implementing individualized learning plans, collaborating with teachers to design and deliver differentiated instruction, and serving as a resource for students, faculty, and families.
The Learning Specialist will also assist in fostering a supportive learning environment that aligns with the school's mission and values.
- Strong knowledge of learning support strategies, assessment techniques, and instructional differentiation
- Proficiency in collaboration, communication, and relationship-building with students, staff, and families
- Ability to design and implement personalized academic interventions and support plans
- Experience with professional development, workshops, or teacher training
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Master’s degree in Special Education, Educational Psychology, or a related field preferred
- Experience working as an educator or specialist, particularly with Upper School students
