Computer Science Instructor

Overview

The Division of Business & Technology at Carl Albert State College seeks a dedicated and committed colleague to teach Computer Science courses. This is a full-time, 10-month, contracted position for the Poteau campus. Position begins August 2026.

• Master's Degree in Computer Science or an appropriately related field.
• Demonstrated knowledge and teaching ability in foundational computer science subjects (e.g., programming, operating systems, networking, databases).
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to high-quality instruction.
• Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience in community college teaching and assessment, as well as to candidates with an awareness of current trends in their fields, including AI ethics and AI-assisted content creation.

• Clear aptitude for teaching; teach traditional lecture, online, and dual credit courses.
• Assignments may include day and/or evening sections.
• Full-time faculty follow departmental syllabi; collaborate with colleagues in the selection of textbooks, software, and other instructional materials; maintain students' records; submit official records and reports as required; and maintain required office hours.
• Plan to engage in activities such as student advising, course evaluation, classroom preparation, evaluation of student performance, committee assignments, and other assigned divisional and college duties.
