SummaryDemonstrate proficiency in company Welding procedures/specifications for welding 90/10 & 70/30 CuNi as well as grinding, prepping and fit-up when needed. Learn to weld with a rotary positioning table, adjusting settings on the rotary table and weld machine after passing GTAW x-ray test with 90/10 pipe on the positioner.
PrimaryDuties & Responsibilities
- Follow safety procedures/requirements.
- Be familiar with Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Demonstrate proficiency in company Welding procedures/specifications for welding 90/10 & 70/30 CuNi as well as grinding, prepping and fit-up when needed.
- Learn to weld with a rotary positioning table, adjusting settings on rotary table and weld machine after passing GTAW x-ray test with 90/10 pipe on the positioner.
- Education & Experience
- Experience preferred for level I, required for level II & III welder.
- HS Education or GED Equivalent is a plus.
- 5 or more years industry experience as a welder.
- Welding trade school graduate or up to two years’ experience as a certified welder.
- Skills & Abilities
- Meets all Welder qualifications and requirements.
- Successful completion of Welder workmanship class.
- A clear understanding of Welding safety.
- Demonstrates proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Basic understanding of Welding principals and applications.
- Demonstrate GTAW skills.
- Basic oral & written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate professionally with co-workers and cross‑train if required.
- Knowledge and understanding of filler metal selection.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks.
- Demonstrate “can do” attitude and work well in a team environment.
- Supervision
- Works mostly autonomously with little supervision.
- Must have a clear driving record in accordance with company driving guidelines.
- Clear background check and drug/alcohol screening.
- Lifting: up to 50 pounds.
- Adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.
Lift and carry: 50 pounds for 100 feet. - Bending, stooping, walking and climbing stairs.
- Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments.
- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
- Moving around to accomplish tasks.
- Communicating with others to exchange information.
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
- Operating machinery and/or power tools.
- Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment.
Assessing the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the job visually. - Required physical ability if mandated by customer or regulatory requirements.
