About the Position
About the Position: This position provides professional and comprehensive clinical health care. Assesses, plans, treats, counsels, and provides guidance, support and instructions to patients with a variety of common, acute and chronic illnesses in the Gastroenterology Clinic.
This is a Direct Hire Solicitation
Responsibilities- Works as a primary health care provider in a clinical setting.
- Provides urgent and non-urgent care for patients over age 18.
- Makes judgments about the use of medications and treatment, duty status, prescribing appropriate medications and treatments based on protocols.
- Provides advice and screens patients by telephone and in person to determine nature and urgency of their problems.
- Assesses the physical and psychological health status of patients and their families.
- Develops and provides individual and group patient health teaching.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position is designated Tier 3, Non-Critical Sensitive, Moderate Risk and requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance Level
- This position requires the incumbent to possess and maintain prescribed credentials and licensure for practice.
- Successful completion of formal education and training as a nurse practitioner (NP) from a program that is recognized by a national professional body and completion of an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner Program.
- This position requires Basic Life Support training certification from, or in accordance with, the American Red Cross.
- Required to obtain necessary immunizations.
- Pre-employment physical required and an annually thereafter.
- This position is required to work uncommon tours of duty hours such as, on-call, working either fixed or rotating shifts, evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
- Position designated as Mission Essential and assume Essential Personnel status during inclement weather/emergencies.
- This position requires the employee to wear a uniform, scrubs, or other appropriate medical professional attire while on duty.
- TDY of 10% required to other Medical Treatment Facilities.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement.
- This position requires a pre-employment drug test.
