American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg position on a 24-bed unit requiring at least 2 years of experience and prior travel nursing experience.
Details- Work on a 24-bed Med/Surg unit (4 North)
- Patient population includes CHF, acute and chronic renal failure, COPD, seizures, and sepsis
- Manages non-titrating cardiac drips and titrating heparin drips
- Proficiency with foleys, PIVs, PICCs, Medi-ports, JP drains, wound vacs, chest tubes, and PCA pumps required
- Oxygen delivery experience required, including nasal cannula, Salter, and high-flow oxygen
- 12-hour PM (night) shifts
- Every other weekend required
- Every other holiday required
- Support staff includes unit secretaries, PCTs, phlebotomists, and transporters
- Active RN license — VA state or compact license required
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates
- Proof of address required for consideration (valid driver's license, voter registration card, federal tax return, Military Form 2058, or W2 from US government)
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
- 1 supervisory reference required
- Copy of certifications required
- Deliver patient care using the nursing process — assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation across adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to establish discharge and continuing care goals
- Administer medications, maintain nursing care plans, and serve as a care coordination point of contact throughout hospital departments
- EKG/dysrhythmia pass/fail exam administered on the first day of orientation, with two attempts allowed — a study guide will be provided
