Join a dynamic Cardiac Cath Lab team in Portsmouth, Virginia. This travel nursing opportunity places an experienced Cath Lab RN in a collaborative interventional cardiology environment supporting cardiologists and cardiovascular physicians. Ideal candidates have strong cath lab skills, STEMI response experience, and the ability to function independently as both scrub and circulator.

• Location: Portsmouth, VA 23707 — Portsmouth, Virginia travel nursing; coastal Virginia nursing jobs
• Assignment Type: Travel RN assignment (13 weeks)
• Start / End Dates: March 23, 2026 – June 20, 2026
• Shift: 12-hour days, Monday–Friday, with at least 14 days of call per month
• Hours per Week: 36–40
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2250–$2370

• Minimum 2 years recent Cardiac Cath Lab RN experience (cardiac catheterization / interventional cardiology)
• Current RN license in Virginia or compact state
• BLS and ACLS required (NIH Stroke Certification preferred)
• Dysrhythmia exam required (study guide provided)
• Ability to circulate and function independently as scrub nurse and circulator
• Must be able to respond to STEMI callbacks in under 30 minutes
• Locals within 50 miles are not accepted

• Assist cardiologists and cardiovascular physicians with catheter-based cardiac and vascular diagnostic and interventional procedures
• Provide support for procedures including balloon pump, Impella, IVUS, iFR/FFR, TAVR, PFO closures, Watchman, EKO studies, atherectomy, angiography, and balloon/stenting
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop/implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications safely and document according to hospital policy and electronic health record (EHR) standards
• Coordinate patient care and serve as liaison for patients and families; ensure clear communication throughout the peri-procedural period
• Participate in on-call rotation for emergency/urgent procedures, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Maintain high standards of patient safety, infection control, and quality improvement in the cath lab
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes in interventional cardiology and critical care settings

• Work with a specialized cardiac cath lab team and experienced interventional cardiologists
• Gain experience with advanced cath lab technologies and high-acuity cardiac procedures
• Support available for travel RN logistics and onboarding
