SummaryResponsible for all aspects of Safety, Environmental, and Health programs for International Marine and Industrial Applicators, LLC (IMIA) within the states identified under the respective category of "West and East Coast." Directly manages and controls all functions of ESH Supervisors and ESH Technicians working in their respective area including onboarding, training, and development.
- West Coast will consist of (Hawaii, California, Washington, Oregon) as it pertains to current operations.
- East Coast will consist of (Maine, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Virginia, Kings Bay, Pascagoula) as it pertains to current operations.
Oversees coastwide compliance with customer, company, state, and federal safety and environmental policies and regulations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensure collection of samples and measurements of potentially hazardous materials, and the coordination of the removal of physical, biological, and chemical hazards.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state health and safety regulations and ensures necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines.
- Participates in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections, providing inspectors with appropriate documents and identifying safety measures.
- Assist workers compensation team as required (i.e., claims, documentation, legal proceedings, etc.) and communicate information from field to Claims Administration.
- Maintain knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures with regards to IMIA operations.
- Conduct routine analysis of trend data and create solutions to prevent employee injuries, fires, or hazardous materials incidents.
- Maintain employee line of balance for respective area of responsibility, work with regional Business Unit Leader to ensure staff readiness for all IMIA projects.
- Participate in problem solving collaborations to address CAR/ICAR/ESHOR items and generate corrective action plans.
- Responsible for all new-hire orientation and training programs in respective areas.
- Facilitate and maintain complex spreadsheets or systems for reporting purposes.
- Identify trends and develop corrective actions to implement as necessary (e.g., PPE, Falls, Strains, Housekeeping, Injuries)
- Provides technical and leadership support to ESH Supervisors, ESH Technicians, production teams, and corporate personnel as necessary.
- Assist in developing corporate safety and health programs/trainings, and objectives, coordinate safety training in accordance with the program.
- Responsible for frequent (as appropriate) visits to each region within their respective area for ongoing training and development of personnel, production inspections and ESH compliance
- Directs and oversees the work of ESH Supervisors and ESH Technicians. Works closely with Human Resources, Business Unit Leaders, Project Managers and Superintendents as necessary.
