Duties
* You will provide technical expertise and management of the computer assisted manufacturing resources within the Shop.
* You will provide assistance in solving difficult technical problems and explains requirements to other technicians as needed.
* You will ensure that all system resources are secure by maintaining access control, training, system maintenance, system development, and performing system administration and database administration duties.
* You will provide expertise in the routing of machine work, machine loading, tooling and scheduling.
* You will set standards for machine cell procedures and provides technical resolution of manufacturing procedures between cells.
* You will consult with other shipyard shops/codes to determine workload capacity and conveys adjustments to work priorities in order to comply with established milestones and changing work conditions.
* You will address concerns and recommendations of shop floor supervisors and machinists on CIM technology and corrects procedures where necessary. Requirements Conditions of employment

* This is a bargaining unit position.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
* You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
* This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
* Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
* Experience providing technical background in the utilization, programming, and application of CNC machine tools and how they are managed and integrated into a job shop/ production environment to guide high level engineering technicians, toolmakers, and machinists, and provide problem resolution.
* Experience manufacturing procedures performed in the Shipyard relative to the repair and overhaul of complex Navy vessels and the production of individual parts/ assemblies for internal / external use.
* Experience utilizing analytical skills, technical writing ability, production process control, cost control, estimating, and budgeting.
* Experience applying knowledge of CIM/CAD/CAM system design operation and current shipyard system.
* Experience utilizing current software including database administration tools, system management tools, and software delivery tools in the daily performance of duties including database administration, system administration and report generation.
