Job Duties

The Deputy Clerk (Grade
8) is assigned operational responsibilities in a fast-paced, high-volume office with frequent deadlines. Ensures court instruction is executed, legal documents are prepared accurately and in accordance with appropriate policies and judicial instructions; provides support to the Clerk of Court, Judges, assists the supervisors, daily docket preparations as well as assisting the Judge on the bench.

Minimum Qualifications

High school degree or equivalent required. Most competitive applicants will know the court, civil process/criminal justice system, be detail-oriented to include a high degree of accuracy and have the ability to manage priorities. Must be able to explain procedures in a clear and easy-to-understand manner in person and over the phone. Experience handling money is highly desirable. A combination of education and experience is required to provide competence in the areas of responsibility.

Court, business, or office-related experience in a variety of general office operations and procedures (e.g., data entry, knowledge of personal computers, competence in automated records and financial systems, filing systems, bookkeeping, etc.) is desired.
