Social Worker - Looked Children Team Sanctuary Personal

Job Purpose

• To support and safeguard children and young people within the Looked After Children service
• To promote positive outcomes, stability, and permanence for children in care
• To ensure children’s voices are central to all planning and decision-making

• Assess the needs, safety, development, and wellbeing of looked after children and young people
• Develop, implement, and review care plans in partnership with children, families, carers, and partner agencies
• Act as an advocate for looked after children, ensuring their best interests remain the primary focus
• Monitor placements and regularly review care arrangements to ensure positive outcomes
• Maintain accurate, timely, and legally compliant case records and documentation
• Attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings, reviews, and care planning forums
• Work collaboratively with foster carers, residential providers, education, and health professionals

• Social Work England registration
• Proven experience working within a Looked After Children or Children in Care team
• Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, statutory guidance, and safeguarding practice
• Excellent communication, assessment, and organisational skills
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
