Job Description

We are on the look out for a multi site maintenance team member to join our team across both Portsmouth sites. Supporting with all general maintenance, from painting to decorating, to fixing toilet seats, changing light bulbs and everything in between. It is a hands on roll which will stretch your skills in different ways across the hotel. You will also be responsible for completing all health and safety checks and administration of the senior maintenance engineer in either property.

The Ibis Portsmouth Center has 144 rooms & Ibis Budget hotel has 121 rooms, situated in the Center of Portsmouth.

You perform highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain the property’s facilities and equipment to ensure a safe and functional environment for the guests.

As our next Maintenance Team Member, you will be fully flexible and adaptable within your shifts. The hotels operates 24hrs a day 7 days a week. This is a full time role to work 5 of those 7 days including weekends.

Are responsible for preventative maintenance work and carry out regular safety and maintenance inspections across the hotel to create a pleasant and safe environment for all colleagues, guests and visitors.

Ideally have a good understanding of building maintenance.

  • Undertake and manage various general maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electricity telecommunications, heat, carpentry and decorating
  • Conduct routine inspection of premises and equipment and handle basic repairs and maintenance requirements.
  • Inspecting building structures, equipment and assets performing reactive and preventive maintenance
    · Perform task and deliver service with the highest level of discretion, aiming for minimal disruption and inconvenience for guests and visitors
  • Actively seek to contribute to the comfort of guests and visitors
  • Remain proactive and approach tasks and requests with a can-do-attitude
  • Handle basis repairs and maintenance ; coordinate and oversee contractors and external providers ensuring they work in relation to service agreements and procedures
  • Install, inspect and troubleshoot equipment, appliances and systems
  • Maintain and replace heating, air conditioning and distribution systems as and when required
  • Liaise with and supervise contractors and external providers to carry out work activities
  • Assist in record keeping and keep daily log of repairs and maintenance of assets and equipment
  • Respects Accor's Legionnaires' disease directive,
  • Apply the Hotel's security regulations (in case of fire etc)
  • Champion the Hotel's commitments to the "Environment Charter" (saving energy, recycling, sorting waste etc),
  • Actively contributes to the safety of people and property (ensuring safety exits remain clear of obstruction etc)
  • Take responsibility for identifying areas of improvement within range of operation, including risk awareness
  • Undertake appropriate training to develop increased expertise in the area of work concerned
  • Report stock levels

What you will be doing:
Inspect and perform preventative maintenance on property’s facilities and equipment
Inspect all areas of the property for safety issues and take immediate corrective action
Assist guests regarding property facilities in an informative and helpful way
