The Role

As a Network Engineer you will join our team supporting Qineti

Q and MOD customers. You’ll work in an ITIL-based environment supporting multiple projects across different layers, delivering technical outputs that ensure secure, efficient transfer of data and the delivery of key communications and network systems.

Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with project managers and technical leads to deliver quality outputs, assist with system implementations and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, develop processes, and support the team by sharing knowledge, providing practical solutions, and help maintain high standards.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues across existing networks and systems
  • Support multiple projects and ensure timely delivery of technical outputs
  • Implement and configure new systems and solutions
Essential experience of the Network Engineer:
  • Hands‑on experience in networking, IT and communications
  • Prior experience as a network engineer within an IT department
  • Support an existing Juniper SRX based network with cyber patches/issue investigation as and when needed (using VPNs, VLANS, within ESXi server environment)
  • Understanding of Microsoft, Windows, Linux, Juniper or coding environments would be advantageous
  • Ability to investigate problems and provide solutions to complex network issues
  • Professionalism and experience in a structured IT environment
Essential qualifications for the Network Engineer:
  • Degree in engineering or equivalent IT‑related experience

This role is 37 hours per week based at Portsmouth.
