Position: Trafalgar Medical Group Practice - Salaried GP

We are looking for a salaried GP for 4-8 sessions to join our friendly, innovative and well supported primary care team at Trafalgar Medical Group Practice. We offer competitive remuneration rates with the added bonus of a fully paid administrative session.

Main duties of the job
  • Fully paid admin session (pro rata based on a 6 session role)
  • 6 weeks annual leave + 1 week study leave
  • 15 minute face-to-face appointments
  • 12 patient contacts per session - mixture of telephone and F2F
  • Minimal home visits (due to AVS)
  • 2 GPs on duty per day with maximum of 1 duty a week
About us

We at TMGP look after a diverse population of 27,900 patients and are situated across 2 sites in the south of Portsmouth on the seafront.

Our team consists of 6 partners, 12 salaried GPs, 2 ANPs, a paramedic, physios, a strong pharmacy team and of course our highly skilled nursing team

Job responsibilities
  • Regular protected educational afternoon (Target sessions)
  • Teaching Practice for both GP trainees and medical students
  • Monthly clinical meetings, evening talks and social events
  • Veteran Friendly Accredited Practice supporting ex-service personnel and their families
Person Specification Qualifications
  • On GMC GP Register MRCGP On Medical Performers List Annual appraisal and revalidation Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check UK driving licence UK work permit (if required)
Aptitude and abilities
  • Willingness to share and collaborate across entire primary health team Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with multi-disciplinary and multi-agency teams Ability to work flexibly Ability to recognise own limitations and act upon them appropriately Willingness to learn new skills and to problem solve on a daily basis An understanding, acceptance and adherence to the need for strict confidentiality Ability to work within the changing structures of the NHS and work to the requirements of other regulatory bodies Excellent communicator
  • Ability to input to strategic and practice development requirements Ability to challenge traditional models of working and to suggest improvements for change in a positive and inclusive manner
Experience
  • Chronic disease management Primary prevention & screening services Clinical Governance Delivery of QOF targets Self-audit and reflection Organised and efficient in record keeping and completion of paperwork Time management being able to prioritise work and work under pressure Computer literacy
