No Excuses to foster a learning community where everybody values learning. We offer a supportive and collegiate working environment with the goal of outstanding learning for children. The school is located on the West of Portsmouth with easy access from the M27 or A27, and staff commute from nearby areas by car or public transport.
Suitable applicants will be interviewed at the earliest opportunity and the advert may close early if a suitable candidate is identified.
We are looking for an MFL teacher who ideally specialises in Spanish and French (or ideally both). The successful candidate can be an experienced teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) joining our supportive, friendly and skilled team. Responsibilities include contributing to a marking strategy, centralised assessments, resources and knowledge organisers, and collaborating with staff to improve effectiveness and efficiency. The successful candidate should be prepared to engage with the school’s established systems and share ideas for doing things more effectively, while maintaining manageable workload expectations that add value to students’ learning.
• Knowledgeable in the subject area and up-to-date with current teaching approaches in languages.
• Demonstrates a passion for languages and a desire for students to love learning.
• Ability to work within a supportive team and adhere to the school’s marking and assessment processes.
• Commitment to ensuring students at Milton cross far outstrip peers locally and nationally in Spanish and French.
• Willingness to contribute to a high-performing, well-managed workload environment.
