This role will initially start on a substitute basis, with opportunities to roll over to a permanent position!
About the SchoolThis is a developing all‑through academy offering a continuous educational journey from ages 4 to 16. Offers a broad, ambitious curriculum across all phases with dedicated SEND support to those who require it. The school is part of an Academy Trust which is an inclusive, community‑centred trust supporting schools across Portsmouth.
The RoleAs a substitute teacher, you will be responsible for supervising pre-prepared lessons, maintaining a calm and purposeful classroom environment, and ensuring that students remain engaged in their learning. You will also be expected to follow the school’s behaviour and safeguarding policies, collect completed work at the end of lessons, and provide feedback to teaching staff where appropriate.
The Ideal Candidate- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
- Ability to support those with SEN within a mainstream setting
- KS3 and KS4 teaching experience
- Confident and adaptable in the classroom
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with students
- Genuine enthusiasm for educating young people
- Initially a temporary supply position, with the opportunity to go permanent!
- Part Time and Full Time available
- Monday-Friday
- Term Time Only

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
