Prospero Teaching is looking for confident, adaptable Cover Supervisors to support a range of secondary schools across Portsmouth
. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with young people and are confident stepping into the classroom to deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher. Whether you're seeking full-time stability or flexible day-to-day work, this role offers variety, experience, and the chance to build your skills within secondary education. Its ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, or anyone with strong classroom or youth-work experience who wants to progress in the education sector.

• Deliver pre-planned lessons across multiple subjects
• Supervise classes in the teachers absence
• Keep students engaged, on task, and following the lesson plan
• Manage classroom behaviour and expectations
• Support learning across KS3 and KS4
• Work flexibly between pre-booked cover and short-term assignments
• Follow school policies and safeguarding procedures

• Experience working with young people (school, tutoring, coaching, youth work, mentoring, etc.)
• Confident managing a classroom environment
• Adaptable and comfortable covering a range of subjects
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Reliable, positive, and proactive
• Graduates or aspiring teachers encouraged to apply

• Experience working with children or young people required
• Classroom management experience beneficial
• Safeguarding training available if needed

• Right to work in the UK
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
