About the Role:
We are currently seeking a dedicated Music Teacher to join the school on a long-term basis starting in September 2026. The successful candidate will teach music across Key Stages 3 and 4, inspiring students through dynamic lessons and practical performance opportunities. You'll play a key role in developing the school's music curriculum and encouraging participation in concerts, ensembles, and extracurricular activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging lessons covering music theory, performance, and composition
Teach a broad and inclusive music curriculum in line with national standards
Support and develop student performance through ensembles, choirs, and concerts
Encourage creativity, musical appreciation, and self-expression in students
Track and assess student progress, providing targeted feedback
Collaborate with staff on school events and cross-curricular projects
Requirements:
Experience teaching music in a secondary school setting is desirable
Strong subject knowledge across a range of instruments and music software
Ability to inspire and engage students of all abilities
Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
A passion for music education and student development
Qualifications:
A degree in Music or Music Education
QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) is essential
Experience with performance direction or music tech is advantageous
