Role DescriptionThis full-time on-site role, based in Portsmouth, focuses on planning and delivering high-impact events that align with the 1851 Trust’s mission and objectives. The Events Officer will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure events run smoothly, maintain detailed project plans, and coordinate logistics, budgets, and resources. The role also involves building relationships with schools, partners, and sponsors, as well as supporting engagement with young people and educators to maximize the impact of the 1851 Trust's initiatives.
Qualifications- Proven experience in event planning, coordination, and management
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
- Proficiency in using digital tools for event promotion, registration, and communication
- A passion for STEM and climate education, with a strong commitment to the mission of empowering young people
- Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances
- A valid driver's license and willingness to travel as required
- Experience in working with educational institutions, young people, or non-profits is a plus
